Methodology to calculate the age of a gerbil
There is actually no infallible mathematical formula to calculate the human age of a gerbil because its growth and physiological changes during its life are very different from what's seen in humans.
However, it is rather based on the observations of the ages of the gerbil, that veterinarians have established a correlation table (age chart) to see an equivalent in human age:

Life expectancy of the gerbil: from 3 to 4 years, but few domesticated gerbils live more than 2 or 3 years because of the high incidence of tumors from the age of 2 years.

- a baby gerbil: a gerbil
- a female gerbil: a gerbil
- a male gerbil: a gerbil!!!
