Methodology to calculate the age of a ferret
There is no infallible mathematical formula to calculate the human age of a ferret because its growth and physiological changes during its life are very different from what's seen in humans.
However, it is rather based on the observations of the ages of the ferret, that veterinarians have established a correlation table (age chart) to see an equivalent in human age:

Life expectancy of the ferret: The life of the ferret is highly variable and depends both lifestyle (diet, rut, brightness of its environment) and where it comes from (origin). The life expectancy of a ferret varies between 5 and 14 years.

- a baby ferret: a kit
- a female ferret: a jill (sprite when it's sprayed)
- a male ferret: a ferret or a hob (a gib when neutered, or hoblet when vasectomised)
